Regency Woods is a HUD Apartment. HUD residents usually pay 30% of their gross income for rent. The rent amount, less approved HUD deductions such as medical and child care expenses, and other allowances, includes a utility allowance. HUD Residents also may choose to pay what is known as flat rent. The HACC works with applicants to determine which rent arrangement is best for them.
Regency Woods is an apartment community designed for residents 62 years of age or older. There are 40 garden style apartments located in Newberry, SC.
Each apartment unit has a kitchen stove, refrigerator and window blinds. Units are pre-wired for cable and telephone jacks in the living room and bedroom. Water, sewer and trash removal are included in the rent. On-site laundry room, outdoor picnic area, and a community room.
Applicants must meet the following conditions to be eligible for residence at Regency Woods.
- Be a single person 62 years of age or older.
- Two persons living together as a family whose head of household is 62 years of age or older.
- Annual income may not be more than the area income limit at the time of application.
The amount of rent paid by an eligible resident will be determined by the amount of his or her income.
