Established in 1977 by Colonel Charles “Charlie” Browne, both the real estate firm and the Southern Institute of Real Estate were started as he retired from active duty in the Air Force at his final post at Shaw Air Base in Sumter. Col. Browne wanted to teach real estate professionals the necessary laws needed to become a licensed agent in South Carolina. Over the last 45 years, South Carolina Realty and the Real Estate School of South Carolina (the name was changed from Southern Institute – SIRE – to South Carolina Institute – SCIRE – to Real Estate School of SC) have evolved into leaders in the industry.

Col. Browne’s eldest son Chip took over both companies after his father’s retirement and continues to serve as Broker in Charge and Senior Instructor for the Real Estate School of SC.

Our unique perspective as a team of real estate professionals gives you the opportunity to buy or sell a home, raw land, commercial or retail properties with a true companion by your side.
